At the end of 30 days' leave in 1970

Gretchen, on leave after Boot Camp in 1987.
Stationed at Quantico, Gretchen found her future husband, a mustanger, then Lt. Paul Zappala.
Gretchen attained the rank of Cpl.  She and Capt. Zappala were married in 1992.

Paul Zappala retired, as a Major, after 21 years in 1996.
While stationed at Camp Pendleton, Gretchen introduced her sister, Heather, to Chris Kamphaus.
Heather and Chris corresponded by mail and phone, and were married in Sept., 1996.

Our 2nd daughter, Heather, with her husband, Chris Kamphaus, in 1998.
